Mausitxa, La Leze and Etxetxipia cheese makers from Artzai-Gazta have won two and three-star prizes in the ‘GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2016’ that have just been held in the UK. In addition, Mausitxa has managed to be among the top 50 products of the 10,000 that were presented.
After four months of tastings, award-winning products are classified by stars. They may be rewarded with 1 star (simply delicious) 2 stars (exceptional), and 3 stars (excellent).
In this edition, Iñaki Ansola’s cheese, from the cheese factory Mausitxa in Elgoibar, has not only achieved the highest accolade of three stars, but also has been ranked among the 50 best foods of the 10,000 participants: Ranking.
In addition to Mausitxa, two other cheese makers from Artzai Gazta have also been awarded in this case with 2 stars: Maria Jesus Larretxe of Etxetxipia (Elizondo) and Eli Gorrotxategi of La Leze (Ilarduia).
Sign of this excellence is the desire of “The Guild of Fine Food” to celebrate their “World Cheese Awards” within the Euskadi-Basque Country International Cheese Festival organized by Artzai Gazta.
